I go in spurts of being on Pianoworld as I kind of feel out of it being in a small town in Oregon. Judy Darst (Musica 71) I certainly did not realize the number of Pianoworld members there!.. That was a pretty nerve-wracking recital to say the least! But I have to admit, I would have loved to hear the Glass! Jade ps It was 1st Runner-up to Miss America by the way :) Thanks for the compliment. That was a pretty nerve-wracking recital to say the least! Comment on Pierrot lunaire and etc. by Teddy Dean Boys http://cubeensemble.com/blog/2009/12/09/pierrot-lunaire-and-etc/comment-page-1/#comment-12 Teddy Dean Boys Thu, 10 Dec 2009 15:42:17 +0000 http://cubeensemble.com/blog/2009/12/09/pierrot-lunaire-and-etc/#comment-12 This was the third 8bb / Pierrot I've seen this this year and the most beautiful and relaxed. Decades ago, who would have thought of Schoenberg & Berg (and more recently - & Perle) as beautiful -- this was a wonderful evening of music and drama and dance and spirit and fun. Also I think it is important to acknowledge the audio sound work of Ryan Ingebritsen. I struggle through too many sound reinforced events - this one was a pleasure: soft & subtle; not so loud that directional realism was destroyed. Palomar core members Alyson Berger (cello) and KT Somero (clarinet) gave solid performances throughout the evening. After the concert, it was great to meet composer Stephen Gardner who dropped in to hear his piece - from IRELAND!
